Sports Event & Business Manager

"It's rad when you are building something you believe in!"

Jason has been involved in the events industry for a decade and for the past 5 years, he's been helping to run Global Games and deliver some of NZ's largest youth sports events. As the General Manager, Jason thrives in the business challenge of pulling off a large event as well as bringing people together to give them a incredible experiences!

Global Games organises world class sporting opportunities for thousands of youth annually from right across NZ and the world through large-scale sports festivals and other projects built on a strong foundation of sportsmanship and fair play.

For perspective:
- The largest event had 14,000 attendees and over 120 teams.
- Hosted many international junior teams including those from South Africa, Australia, America, Japan and France.
- Events consistently book out 11 months prior to going live with massive waitlists
- Given out multiple full team scholarships to attend sports academies at the AUT Millennium Institute where olympians train
- Have run events for multiple sporting codes including rugby union, rugby league, netball and soccer
- The biggest annual event requires a crew of 75+ people
- Ran a fundraiser gala dinner at Eden Park for 550+ people with keynote speaker Sir Graham Henry. All of the $50,000+ that was raised went to funding international sporting opportunities for youth.

"Dream it, Live It!" - Global Games

Jason loves being involved in these events since it ticks all the boxes:
- promotes healthy lifestyles and involvement of sports
- hosts wicked events and gives all attendees an awesome experience
- huge community impact
- encourages youth to be the best that they can be

Through Jason's involvement, he now thinks on a large scale, is solution orientated, puts the community above commerce, can create win-win relationships for different stake holders and delivers world-class events but most importantly thinks about how to create massive social impact.
